Ladakh – 18 days
|Day 01||Delhi to Chandigarh
Arrive Delhi late night / early morning . Drive straight from airport to Chandigarh,
Check in & intro to bikes later in the day.
|Day 02||Chandigarh to Chindi
Early morning departure for Chindi via Shimla, Tattapani, Naldhera. Scenic ride through hilly mountainous countryside.
|Day 03||Chindi to Manali
Depart for Manali via Rohanda, Chail Chowk, Pundoh & Kullu. Arrive early evening & check in. Evening free to wander in local market.
Short ride to Naggar & back.
|Day 05||Manali to Keylong
Depart for Keylong via Rohtang pass ( 4000 m ) & Khoksar. We climb up to 4000 m & then descend to 3300m for our overnight halt
|Day 06||Keylong to Sarchu
Todays ride will take you over Baralacha Pass at 4900 m & the beginning of the cold desert. Overnight in tented accommodation at Sarchu at a height of 4300 m.
|Day 07||Sarchu to Tso Kar
Continue in the cold desert to Tso Kar lake & meadows via Lachlangla Pass ( 5200 m ), Pang & the More Plains. These are 50 kms of dead straight plains at a height of 4600 m. Just before Tanglang La we turn right to Tso Kar for our overnight camp.
|Day 08||Tso Kar to Leh
Fairly long drive today over the high pass of Tanglang La ( 5300 m). Beautifully coloured rock formations at Lato sculptured out by the strong winds in this region. Overnight in Leh.
Visit Hemis Monastery & Thiksey monastery. Evening free
|Day 10||Leh to Nubra
Today you will travel over Khardongla, the highest motorable pass in the world at 5600 m & cross over into the Nubra Valley. This is an actual sandy desert with dunes & camels at a height of 3500m on the old trading route from India to Central Europe. Overnight in hotel
After a morning visit to Panamik, the last access point on this road & the hot springs there, visit The Tantrik Monastery in Diskit, Visit School in Diskit run for orphans & the poor
|Day 12||Nubra to Leh
Return to Leh via Khardongla ( 5600m ) arriving early afternoon. Evening free to wander the market & take in the local atmosphere
|Day 13||Leh to Alchi
Today we take the Leh / Srinagar road towards Alchi for our night halt at the fixed camp at Alchi. The route takes us past the confluence of the Zanskar river & the Indus river at Nimoo. En route visit Likir monastery Monastery, which has a large statue of Maitrya Buddha. Evening visit Alchi Monastery, which has a unique blend of Kashmiri & Hindu architecture, Built in the 11th century
|Day 14||Alchi to Leh
We return to leh with an early start, after visiting Alchi monastery.
|Day 15||Leh to Pangong
Early start for Pangong Lake via Changla Pass at 5200m. This is the largest salt water lake in Asia measuring 140 kms , at 4400 meters, & is well known for its colourful rocks & fossils. Overnight in tented accommodation
|Day 16||Pangong to Leh
Retrace our steps back to Leh for overnight halt
|Day 17||Leh to Delhi to Agra
We take the early morning flight out to Delhi & proceed to Agra by road. Evening visit the Taj Mahal & later free for shopping & visit to the local markets
|Day 18||Agra to Delhi
Leisurely departure for Delhi
